- IT fundamentals / CompTIA IT Fundamentals or equivalent
- Microsoft Office Specialist (Excel focus recommended)
- Google Analytics / Digital marketing basics (SEO, social media ads)
- Coding basics: HTML/CSS/JavaScript or Python for beginners (short bootcamp)
- Cybersecurity awareness (basic/essential)
- UX/UI fundamentals or product basics (short intro)
Business / professional
- Bookkeeping basics / HMRC-compliant VAT & payroll essentials
- Project Management: PRINCE2 Foundation or APMG/PMI Agile basics (PRINCE2 Foundation often UK-preferred)
- Sales fundamentals & negotiation skills
- Leadership & management essentials (first-line manager training)
Care, education & public sector
- First Aid (including Paediatric First Aid for childcare)
- Safeguarding adults & children (Level 1–3 depending on role)
- Food hygiene (Level 1–3)
- Dementia awareness / Care Certificate modules (for care roles)
Trades & practical
- CSCS card health & safety (required on many UK construction sites — typically includes the CITB Health, Safety & Environment test)
- IOSH Working Safely
- CCNSG Site Safety Passport
- Asbestos awareness
- Forklift/MEWP tickets
